Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor made heads turn when they walked the ramp as showstoppers for Manish Malhotra and the Mijwan Fashion Show 2018. Deepika looked ethereal in an embellished lehenga-choli and completed her look with statement earrings, sleek hairdo and red lipstick. Ranbir looked stunning in a black sherwani. The former flames looked ravishing on the runway and even though they were walking the ramp for the first time together there was no awkwardness whatsoever. Ranbir later praised Deepika for her talent and elegance.
Showering praises on his co-star and ex GF, Ranbir opened up to a daily, “Deepika Padukone is amazingly talented, so beautiful. I have done films with her, I have been on reality shows with her. This is a different medium, I have never walked the ramp with her. She’s a professional at it; she started with modelling. So, I am excited”.

Ranbir, the goodwill ambassador of Mijwan Welfare Association, thanked Shabana Azmi for the show and spoke fondly about women empowerment. “My mother always taught me that a man is as good as the respect he shows a woman. A man is as good as the space he gives his wife, daughter, sister, mother to be whoever she wants to be. I'm genuinely trying to be that man," said RK.

Ranbir while interacting with the media said that the notion of masculinity needs to change to empower women. He said, “I think firstly, we have to change the notion of masculinity. If we could change the feeling of entitlement then that’s the big thing. Once we do that, we should provide a platform to encourage citizen of our country, especially to girls and the women. My sister Riddhima and I were raised as equals and I want every girl and boy to be treated equally. To my young friends, I say 'Be the Change you wish to see in the world. You can do it and your time starts now.' It will then be a great start and I think Mijwan Welfare Society is just about that."
The proud mama Neetu Kapoor was overwhelmed by his son's words and praised his thought via an Instagram post. Neetu said, "At the #mijwan show !!! Shabana kept calling Rana “ her Jigar ka tukda “ I share the same emotion and hundred times more if one can win hearts not only with your work but also as a person is the best trait u are gifted with !!!! I don’t know whether I should thank god or pat my back"
