Varun Dhawan the superstar of the current generation is celebrating his 31st birthday today. Unlike most stars that take a vacation or ring in their birthdays with a party, Varun is busy shooting for his upcoming movie Kalank. Ever since he made his debut in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012 along with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra there has been no stopping him back.
Varun has seen unprecedented success in the six years that he has been in the industry; no other actor has been as successful as him ever and that is why he has earned the moniker of being the youngest superstar of Bollywood.
Dhawan worked as an assistant director to Karan Johar on his Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol directorial My Name is Khan in 2010 and moved on to facing the camera and doing lead roles in mainstream Hindi movies. Dhawan till date has done 10 movies (barring cameo appearances) in 6 years which all of them have been successful at the box office. Dilwale had a somewhat lukewarm response but then Varun was not the lead actor and it was touted as a SRK– Kajol movie.

In 2015, he had three releases in the form of Badlapur, ABCD 2 and Dilwale and all three of them were as different as chalk from cheese. In the first he played a man hell bent on taking revenge from the man who killed his wife and child, in the second he came across as a young struggling dancer trying his best to win a dance championship with his troupe and in the third he was the lovable younger brother, and yet he shone through in all the three movies.
Varun is an actor who can juggle a serious role with an over-the-top no-brainer, the way he did with Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2 and can pull off a Dan in the recently released October. His most recent release October, directed by Shoojit Sircar opposite Banita Sandhu has been reaping accolades and appreciation from every quarter.

He is currently shooting for Kalank in which he is paired opposite Alia Bhatt but will also share screen space with Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. He is also busy wrapping up his next film with YRF opposite Anushka Sharma called Sui Dhaaga – Made in India and will be gearing up to star in Remo D’Souza’s dance film opposite Katrina Kaif for which he has been reportedly paid a whopping sum of Rs 32 crore.
Now, don’t you agree with us that he is the superstar of the current generation after all which other actor has given back-to-back hits and lorded over the box office in the last five years?
