The very successful Varun Dhawan celebrated his 31st birthday today among family and friends. The October star did not throw a lavish bash for his birthday but rang in the special day on the sets of his new movie Kalank.

Watch the videos where Varun is seen cutting his birthday cake while co-star Alia is heard singing for him. The birthday boy seems to be blushing as he cuts his delicious cake.

Varun also shared some cute videos of his near and dear ones wishing him and dancing for him. Varun's mom Karuna is seen shaking a leg. Adorable, don't you think?

Many colleagues and well-wishers took to social media to wish the star a happy birthday.

Varun, son of David Dhawan, started his career as an assistant director to filmmaker Karan Johar in My Name Is Khan. He made his acting debut with 2012 romantic comedy Student of the Year and ever since he has featured in films like Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badlapur, Dilwale, Dishoom and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Varun is currently riding high on the success of his latest release October.

Talking about his character in the movie, Varun had said, "Dan is within all of us, we have just forgotten it with time. Let's not lose the humanity in human and that's what I wanted to say with October. Now that the film is out I can finally say this. Life is so unpredictable and we don't know when we might lose someone who is close to us. It is so important to give time to people in life and know what is your priority in life."

Varun is currently excited about his movie Kalank, which also features Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. Abhishek Varman will direct the "epic drama", which will hit screens on April 19, 2019. The film will be produced by Karan, Nadiadwala, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta. It is co-produced by Fox Star Studios.
