It’s pegged to be the wedding of the year and prep for the Sonam-Anand wedding is on in full swing. The Sangeet, where most of the fun happens, is growing more interesting by the minute. With Farah Khan, no less, wielding the choreographer’s baton, the performers include a dazzling line-up of the Kapoors’ starry family and friends.
For starters, there’s the young and lovely Janhvi Kapoor who is set to perform her mother, the late Sridevi’s hit songs, ‘Mere haathon mein nau nau chudiyan hain…’ and ‘Kisi ke haath naa aayegi yeh ladki...’ The memorable numbers are from Sridevi’s films Chandni and Chaalbaaz respectively and are sure to entertain even as they bring a huge lump to the throat.
Now there’s speculation that Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor could be teaming up for a performance that could well bring the house down. The crazy duo, who are great pals in real life as well, are rumoured to come together to pay a tribute to Arjun’s uncle and the bride’s father, Anil Kapoor. Naturally it will be via his thunderously popular number ‘My name is Lakhan…’
The song happens to be a fave of the duo, who have performed it onstage at award shows and even TV talk shows. In fact, last year at a wedding in London, Ranveer and Anil Kapoor had teamed up to perform the trademark steps of this evergreen song from Ram Lakhan.
Buzz has it that the proud father of the bride, Anil Kapoor could well join Ranveer and Arjun to perform to the song at the sangeet. That is bound to bring on the ceetees!
Meanwhile, Sonam had recently shared, “I think the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to me than a wedding. I think there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and I would rather give that money away.”
She had also revealed that she would prefer to have a wedding at home with complete rituals. And of course, her family and friends goofing around, we must add!
Meanwhile, lets reminiscence Sonam's and Anand's journey till now:
