Priyanka Chopra is savvy, sassy and successful but there’s something that still manages to wear her down - being misconstrued and misunderstood! The ‘Quantico’ stunner, who has won worldwide acclaim, recently opened up about this issue. She revealed that there were times when she wondered why people were misunderstanding her statements and creating a controversy. What’s worse is, when she tried to defend it, it gave rise to another controversy!

“I don’t like that,” she declared. “I am not mad, and not someone who doesn’t like logic. I am where I am because people have watched me and loved my work.” Those who deliberately misconstrue her, do take the hint!

She points out that she has been a public person for more than half her life, having started working when she was just 17. A supporter of child rights and social causes, she acknowledges that she can use her influence to make a difference. “I know that as a public person, people may not follow what I do because I am not a policy maker and I can’t change things. But, I can help people change their mindset,” she adds.

Priyanka believes her upbringing has made all the difference. If her parents had not raised her this way and told her that ambition and opinion was good, she wouldn’t be what she is today, she points out. Vouching that she has been very lucky to have such progressive parents, she now wants the children of the world, and especially the children of India to be able to have those parents. She wants her peers to make that change, as she adds, “Hopefully through the decisions that I have (made), parents will tell (their kids) to be ambitious.”

She isn’t off the mark there – if there’s a shining example of a girl that’s gone places on the wings of her ambition, PC is just that person.
