The Bollywood fraternity is a closely knit group where actors and actresses come from film dynasties and more often than not are either related through blood, marriage or bonding. It is no big news that Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor are friends in real life, but few are aware that the former also shares a close friendship bond with Arjun’s cousin Sonam Kapoor as well. Sonam is all set to enter holy matrimony with long-term beau Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018, and Varun who has a chock-a-block shooting schedule has requested his directors to give him time off on May 7 and 8 for the actress’s impending wedding.
Sonam and Varun’s father Anil Kapoor and David Dhawan hold a long association which has also materialized into successful films on the celluloid. The two young superstars were childhood playmates and would meet during outdoor schedules of the films that their fathers were working on. Besides work, the Kapoors and Dhawans have been family friends as well. Now that Sonam’s big day is just around the corner, the Dhawans are invited for all the ceremonies. A source revealed, “David and his family are invited to all the celebrations at Anil and Sunita Kapoor’s home. David’s sons Rohit and Varun are good friends with Arjun, Sonam and Harshvardhan.”

Varun, who is currently shooting for his period drama Kalank opposite Alia Bhatt is keen to attend all the celebrations next week and in order to ensure that he does not miss out on the intimate rituals, he has asked the filmmakers to let him off early on May 7 and 8. On May 7, 2018, a mehendi function will be held, while on May 8 a big bash will be hosted by the couple’s family and friends after the wedding ceremony.
The betrothed couple have not printed any wedding cards and instead resorted to sending e-invites. Sonam’s childhood friends from the industry along with her cousins and social circle will be attending the wedding and looks like Varun can’t wait for his friend to get married.
Meanwhile, lets reminiscence Sonam's and Anand's journey till now:
