Rajkumar Hirani’s decision to rope in Ranbir Kapoor to play one of the most talked-about stars of Bollywood – Sanjay Dutt – in a biopic on the latter has been one of his best casting decisions ever! Ranbir, with his utmost dedication, sincerity and suave, slipped under the skin of a colourful celebrity like Dutt, who is not only successful and inspirational as a film star but has had a controversial past too.

Since Monday, director Hirani has been sharing new posters of the upcoming movie, and one thing common to them all is the fact that Ranbir is a spitting image of Dutt, and blurs the lines as he represents the actor for real. The young star’s metamorphosis is evidently flawless as we get to witness the mannerisms, expressions, a beefed-up physique and even the gait of the superstar in Ranbir’s body. In the poster that Hirani shared today on Twitter, Ranbir’s physical transformation as the young Dutt with bulging biceps, shoulder-length hair, intense eye-gaze and the 90s fashion which became a huge rage amongst Baba’s fans, easily manages to stand out.

Sanju boasts of an ensemble cast including stars Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Karishma Tanna. The film is scheduled to release on June 29, 2018.
