Both Janhvi and Khushi were donning traditional wear and looked beautiful. Janhvi was a mirror image of her late mother as she donned one of Sridevi's sarees. The MOM actress had worn the same saree in 2012 for south superstar Ram Charan's wedding festivities. It was therefore a warm and emotional moment to for Sridevi's family when Janhvi carried her mother's legacy forward while receiving the honorable award.
Boney said at the ceremony, "This is Sridevi's first National Film Award. It is a very proud moment for all us. At the same time, a sad moment. We wish she was here with us. She truly deserves it and she has been around for almost 50 years and done almost 300 films."
He added, "She has always given her best to all her films. Finally, unfortunately after she has left, that she has been awarded with this honour."
He also had a word of advice for his daughters. He said, "Like my daughters, there are many more young ladies who aspire to be like my late wife Sridevi. I would only ask them to be as dedicated as focused as sincere, as hardworking as her."
On the work front, Janhvi will make her debut with the Karan Johar film Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter.
