Anand is the son of Harish Ahuja of Shahi Exports. It is regarded as India’s largest export house. The company has a reported turnover of over Rs.450 million.

In 2015, his family made news for buying a bungalow built on a 3,170 square yard plot on Prithviraj Road in central Delhi for Rs.173 crore. At the time, Harish Ahuja had said that he bought the property because of the attractive price and the limited availability of houses in the coveted area of the capital known as Lutyens Bungalow Zone, which is home to some of the country’s top businessmen.

Anand, who has two younger brothers Amit and Anant Ahuja, had schooled at American Embassy School in Delhi and graduated in Economics and International Affairs from the University of Pennsylvania. He pursued his MBA from Wharton but left the course mid-way. He has also interned with Deutsche Bank, learnt more about the retail business at his uncle’s store Macy’s Inc., and worked with Last Sportswear as well as Amazon.com as a Product Manager in the USA.

He branched out starting his own multi-brand sneaker company called Veg Non Veg. Anand also owns an apparel brand called Bhane in partnership with Shahi Exports.

Anand had met the girl of his dreams via a mutual friend, Prerna. He proposed to Sonam in 2014 and then waited months till she could be convinced!

A keen basketball player he is also a huge fan of National Basketball Association (NBA) and supports the basketball team Los Angeles Lakers. Anand is reportedly the owner of a property worth Rs.3000 crore.
