Sridevi’s family used her official Twitter handle to share images of her 65th National Film Awards 2017 certificate and citation... and the love poured in. The late actress was posthumously honoured with the Best Actress award for her performance in the film MOM. In the film, directed by Ravi Udyawar, Sridevi, played a mother who sets out to avenge her step-daughter, essayed by Pakistani actress Sajal Ali.
Her sudden demise in February due to a drowning accident in Dubai sent shockwaves through the nation.

In her career spanning almost half a century, fans loved to watch Sridevi pairing up onscreen with Anil Kapoor. They had worked together in Lamhe, Laadla, Judaai, Mr India and many more hit films and were admired for their amazing chemistry. The two desired to reunite on the big screen once more but that dream has been nipped in the bud.
Ironically, both Sridevi and her brother-in-law Anil had danced together to ‘Chittiyan kallaiyaan…’ at Anil’s nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding in Dubai, just days before her demise. The two can be seen dancing hand in hand in a group, Anil as enthusiastic as ever, and Sridevi her graceful self.

Receiving the National honour on his wife’s behalf, Boney Kapoor had shared, “An artist always looks for an honourable honour and there cannot be a bigger honour than National Awards.” He also added, “Sridevi would have been very happy today. We miss her, it is a very proud moment at the same time.”
