Sonam Kapoor wears her heart on her sleeves. Sonam, born in one of the prolific families of Bollywood, went on to conquer the world as a formidable fashion icon and has more than just her last name to reckon with. The actress has always been a princess of her own fairyland and the happiness of starting a new phase of life as Mrs Anand Ahuja has been glowing all over her face. Sample her outing with beau Anand on Friday afternoon in Mumbai. The couple couldn’t stop gushing and blushing as they stole glances amid camera flashes. However, Sonam, a self-confessed old-world romantic, had planned her wedding gift when she was just 16. Yes! A mushy, romantic teenager there.
In an interview with actress Simi Garewal in 2012, Sonam had confessed that she has planned her gift for her future partner well in advance. 16 years, to be specific. “I have written quite a few poems but there was this one poem that I wrote when I was around 16 years old. It is called Ambition. I had promised myself that as soon as I find the person that I’m going to be with, I’m going to give him that poem. The day I get married, the poem will be with that man and I’ll say that this is what I want my life to be like and hopefully, we can work together towards this,” Sonam told Simi.

Sonam found her Mr. Right in Anand. But the actress has never had any particular qualities or check list for her dream guy. “"I am an old world romantic. A man just needs to be kind-hearted and ambitious. That's the deadly combination for me. I've realised that the two don't go hand in hand. Either you're very ambitious and that makes you unkind and hard. But I think when you have that combination, you'll win my heart for sure, " she had told an online news portal in an interview.
But the girl always knew what it takes to make a marriage work. In an interview with a magazine in 2015, Sonam had said,"According to me, a relationship needs lot of patience, lots of give and take, and accepting one another with faults," she said. We youngsters don't know how to stick it out...we don't even try. People do not work hard enough on relationships. It is hard work to make a marriage work. If you really love the person, then you make that effort to work towards it," she added.
Sonam and Anand’s wedding ceremonies will be a two-day affair - May 7 and 8. All the who’s who of the industry shall mark their presence at the gala affair, with some peppy performances by Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Karan Johar also in store.
