This year, the Bollywood film industry has lost many of its gems. Adding to the list was veteran filmmaker Arjun Hingorani, best known for his films like Sultanat and Saheli. However, his most notable contribution has to be the launch of actor Dharmendra, in the film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. He was also the one to launch actress Sadhana in Abana. This remains his biggest milestone, as he gave the Sindhi Community its first film in 1958. The filmmaker passed away on May 5th, 2018, at the age of 92.
On learning about the filmmaker’s death, Dharmendra took to Twitter to share his sorrow. He tweeted, “Arjun Hingorani, the man who put his hand around the shoulder of this loner in Mumbai, has left us forever… I am extremely sad! May his soul rest in peace”. After having launched Dharmendra in Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere, the duo went on to work in multiple films together, including Kab Kyoon Aur Kahan, Kahani Kismat Ki and Kaun Kare Kurbanie. The director-producer’s career spanned over three decades and many successful films.

Along with Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor, too, expressed his grief and shared one of his memories with Arjun Hingorani on twitter. “R I P. Whenever the shot was ready, this man used to say 'Rishi sahab ko bulaye' and shout 'Dharmen ko bulao' for Dharmendra sahab - because he gave him a break in films. Dharam ji out of sheer respect obeyed him. We all three did 'Kaitlon Ke Kaatil' a super hit film. Adios Arjun ji!” Rishi Kapoor tweeted.

He lived a healthy, active life and died peacefully in his sleep Saturday after having eaten a full meal and his favourite sweet gulab jamun on Friday. He was so blessed, we think."
The vice president of the Chamber of Film Journalists, Atul Mohan, said, "Arjun Hingorani peacefully left for the heavenly abode," in a statement. He took his last breath at Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. According to the statement, the last rites of the late filmmaker were performed at the same place.
