Missing Sridevi: Sonam is bound to feel her aunt’s loss on her big day…

The last time the entire Kapoor family was together celebrating was in February this year in Dubai. It was the last time the late Sridevi celebrated with her family at her husband’s nephew Mohit Marwah’s dazzling destination wedding. Days later she was no more…

Her sudden and shocking death brought the entire family together. Sonam Kapoor especially was a huge support to Sri’s children, Janhvi and Khushi. She, along with her parents Anil and Sunita, rushed to be with her young bereaved cousins. The two girls were brought home to Anil’s Juhu residence where they were comforted and cared for as the legendary actress’s mortal remains were awaited from Dubai. Eyewitnesses reveal Sonam closely supported her cousins through this difficult time.

Sonam herself broke down inconsolably when she entered the cremation ground. She had also got into a challenging situation on the road, as her path was blocked by a sea of fans, which had left her upset and in tears.

It was due to Sridevi's sudden demise, that her wedding festivities were also consciously curtailed. The decision was taken to go with a simple and basic wedding in Mumbai which followed all the rituals but minus flamboyance and wastage.

Sonam was also very much part of the small celebration that the family put together to mark Janhvi’s 21st birthday, days after Sridevi’s demise. Sonam had also taken to Instagram to wish her young cousin, writing, “To one of the strongest girls I know, who became a woman today. Happy birthday jannu.”

Sonam had inspired her aunt Sridevi enough for the late actress to create a beautiful painting of her. The painting in question was based on Sonam’s look from her debut film Saawariya, wherein she is wearing a bright blue dress. In fact, this piece of art was to be auctioned in Dubai for which the veteran actress had stayed back after attending Mohit Marwah’s wedding.

The wounds are clearly still to heal…
