Advertising does pay off! Take the case of Saqib Saleem and Yami Gautam. The pair was a hit in their recent ad campaign for an apparel brand. Their pairing was liked not just by the public, certain producers too were left impressed. Now the two actors have been all but finalized for an upcoming rom-com, which will bring them together for the first time.

While the official announcement is expected soon, the film is expected to roll this year itself. Their chemistry has already been appreciated in their recent ad, and interest is already growing in a film that will bring these two good-looking actors together.

On the work front, Saqib has been dubbing for the Salman-starrer Race 3, while Yami has been occupied with two films. Besides an under-production film, she has Uri, in which she co-stars with Vicky Kaushal in a real-life inspired film based on the Uri terror attack.
Interestingly, both Saqib and Yami are out-of-towners in real life, who came to Mumbai to follow their passion. While Saqib hails from Delhi, Yami was born in Himachal and brought up in Chandigarh.

Saqib recently revealed that his reason for reaching Mumbai, the city of Bollywood dreams, was love. “I went to Mumbai for love, but it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. An advertisement fell into my lap, and then I got an offer for a film next. When I went in to give the audition, I realized that I had never acted in life; I had never faced a camera!”
Fortunately, it panned out well for him. It helped that his sister, Huma Qureshi was an emerging star then, which helped Saqib convince his parents. “Huma was already in Mumbai, and the younger ones always get it easy, because the older ones paved the way and had already fought the battle with the family,” he quipped.
