The film Kedarnath has finally some good news. The Abhishek Kapoor directed film that stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan in the lead is all set to hit the theatres on November 30, 2018. The film which had its fair share of problems with regards to its producers was anticipating a clash with Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif starrer Zero but fortunately that has been averted. Zero has been directed by Aanand L Rai, and sees SRK play a dwarf for the first time in a film.
The project was embroiled in controversy and a legal battle with former producer Prernaa Arora’s banner KriArj Entertainment. Ronnie Scewvala finally took over the project after compensating the Aroraa, Ekta Kapoor and Bhushan Kumar. However, another issue cropped up as producer Vashu Bhagnani and two other production houses claimed that Prernaa had sold the Indian theatrical rights of the film to them. Kapoor had then filed a police complaint against his estranged business partner Arora.

The director of the film took to Twitter to announce the release date for the film. He captioned the tweet as, “We clean up pretty nice. 30th Nov it is.” Kapoor and Aroraa had fallout and the project was in jeopardy but Screwvala was so impressed after seeing the footage of Kedarnath that he decided to finance the film and not let it fall into ruins.
Kedarnath is a love story set against the backdrop of the powerful true-life floods of 2013 that affected all of us. The floods wreaked havoc in the valley and many people lost their lives to it. Kedarnath is one of the holiest places of pilgrimage for Hindus and many pilgrims come from all over the country as well as the world to the divine place of worship.
