Sanjay Dutt is on a high these days. His biopic Sanju that stars Ranbir Kapoor playing him has been raking in rave reviews with its teasers and posters and has brought Sanjay’s troubled life back in limelight. Yesterday, the actor shared the poster of his first film Rocky that completed 37 years and wrote that the film gave him “a real sense of being an actor”. Dutt, who made his comeback to films with Bhoomi was actually supposed to do an Umesh Shukla film after the completion of his jail term.
The actor and director had committed to come together in a film once the former completes his prison sentence but that never materialized and the half-a-dozen films that Dutt has committed to since being released, do not feature any with director Shukla. Sanjay’s debut film Rocky which was directed by his father late Sunil Dutt completed 37 years yesterday and that made the actor emotional.

The OMG! Oh My God and 102 Not Out director was asked about the development of a project with Dutt and he said, “Somehow, that film isn’t happening now. I was supposed to get the rights via courier, but they didn’t come through. So we couldn’t make that film. Nonetheless, Sanjay and I are in touch. If something good comes up that I feel suits him, I will certainly connect with him.”
