From Satyajit Ray in the 70s to Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in more recent years, the Croisette’s fine sands, glitzy hotels and gourmet restaurants have also hosted Indian cinema’s biggest and most respected actors and filmmakers during the world’s most glamorous film festival, i.e. Cannes. And making her debut this year is Bollywood biggie Kangana Ranaut.
Of the three colours that the actress zeroed on among white, grey and blue; something extraordinary caught her eye and she looks no less than a Greek Goddess ready to slay on the Cannes red carpet. Donning a black sequined saree by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the Queen actress opted for a retro-styled hair and makeup. She donned a simple white choker and looked every bit ethereal.
Earlier, a source close to the actress reportedly told a leading daily, “Kangana has told the stylists that the three colours she is keen on sporting for her red carpet turn are white, grey and blue. She is open to the idea of flaunting a different colour if something extraordinary catches her attention. The final look will be zeroed in on by next week.” Judging by the pictures looks like the actress has.
Kangana too shared about her thoughts on walking the red carpet. She said, “It is overwhelming to witness the recognition and appreciation for Indian cinema at international platforms like Cannes.”
Kangana is teaming up with Grey Goose, which is the official celebration partner at Cannes every year. The gorgeous star will represent and celebrate excellence in Indian Cinema at Cannes 2018. Kangana Ranaut will also interact with the media and talk women and the role they play in cinema.
The annual Cannes Film Festival held at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès opens this week. And just like every year, the French Riviera town will roll out the red carpet to A-list celebrities from all around the world.
