En route to Cannes: Deepika Padukone is all set to slay at the French Riviera

Deepika Padukone may have received some backlash for not being "experimenting" with her Prabal Gurung red MET Gala outfit but the fans can take a breather as the Padmaavat actress is yet to walk the Cannes red carpet. With the 71st annual Cannes Film Festival kickstarting in all its splendeur, we can only expect to be blown away by our Bollywood's star A-game.

Deepika who was a visual treat in her dark purple Marchesa Notte dress and in the emerald green Brandon Maxwell thigh-high split gown made an everlasting impact on fashionistas and its safe to say that we can expect DP to work some of that fairy magic again.

Clearly not able to contain her excitement fo the day, the actress was snapped at the airport looking radiant as ever.

She even shared a picture of her Cannes "diet" which featured two little tubs of cream cheese, a “hot beverage” and a bagel. And although carbs is basically kryptonite for any weight-watchers, Deepika goes on to show that a little bagel and cream cheese now and then is just fine! Reason #5895 why we are in awe of this 32-year-old.

Speaking about her experience last year, the actress said, “I haven’t stopped smiling since I came here, the energy is really high here. It’s just so good to be here, look at the platform and what it is (sic) cinema, how it brings people together from across the world – there couldn’t be a better time and place.”

Deepika will be walking on May 10 (Thursday) and May 11 (Friday) as L'Oreal Paris brand ambassador.

Meanwhile, other celebrities who will also attend the Cannes Film Festival are Kangana Ranaut, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the newlywed Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. While Kangana will walk the red carpet of May 10th, Aishwarya will grace the red carpet with her presence on May 12 and May 13 accompanied by daughter Aaradhaya. Sonam will turn heads at the festival on May 14 and May 15.
