It takes a rare talent to keep something as big as a proper traditional wedding a secret. And Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi even managed to not let their friends get a whiff of their wonderfully intimate wedding!

News of their wedding which the couple shared on social media, has naturally left their friends clean bowled. Vidya Balan, Neha’s co-star in Tumhari Sulu, was quick to wish the couple, informing Neha that she was so happy for her. Ayushmann Khurrana gave it a funny twist by surmising that he wasn’t invited because the couple had run away and got married! Tennis sensation Sania Mirza let her amazement show by adding no less than four d’s in her ‘Oh my godddd!!!’ while Aditi Rao Hydari od-ed on the exclamation marks as she reacted to the surprise wedding.

The couple had a hush-hush Anand Karaj ceremony attended by close family and friends in a gurdwara in south Delhi. Only their closest family members were in the know about their plans and this ensured no chance of any leakage. However, Angad’s friends from his cricketing phase - Ajay Jadeja, Ashish Nehra and Gaurav Kapoor – were in the know and also attended the wedding. Angad is the son of noted cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi. Before he discovered acting, he played cricket up to the Under-19 level for Delhi. Subsequently, he began a career in modelling and ventured into television and films.

While Neha will soon be seen in Karan Johar’s short in the Netflix movie, Lust Stories, she also features alongside Kajol in Pradeep Sarkar’s Eela. Angad has Soorma lined up next, directed by Shaad Ali, and will return to his lead role in season two of ‘Inside Edge’. Right now, of course, it’s only time for shocked congratulations!
