After Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tied the knot on May 8, 2018, Neha Dhupia and Angad Singh Bedi took the plunge and now singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya has become the latest entrant in the shaadi club. The 44-year-old singer-composer-actor married his long-time girlfriend, actress Sonia Kapoor in a traditional Hindu ceremony at his residence in the wee hours of Saturday morning. The wedding was an intimate affair with only close family and friends attending the function. Himesh’s son, Swaym, from his previous marriage along with the singer's parents, were also present at the function. Since the wedding muhurat was for 1.30 am on Saturday, May 12, 2018, the couple had not invited any of their friends for the ceremony but will be throwing a party for the Bollywood fraternity later.

Speaking about his new wife Himesh said, “I am really happy that Sonia and I have embarked on this new journey. She is a lovely girl. I have loved her unconditionally and the feeling is mutual.” A source close to the newly married couple said, “Sonia will not be taking up any acting offers now. She wants to focus on family. At the wedding ceremony, both sides of family members were present. Himesh’s parents blessed the newlyweds and participated in the rituals. The couple will take off on their honeymoon on Sunday to an undisclosed location abroad.”

Himesh and Sonia have been in the relationship for quite some time now and hence were looking for a suitable date for the wedding. The singer-composer had been married before and has a son from his earlier marriage. He parted ways with Komal, his wife of 22 years last year in June.
