Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s film Batti Gul Meter Chalu seems to have landed itself in a soup. The first schedule of the film was wrapped up way back in February in Uttarakhand but even after three months on, there is no word on the next shooting schedule of the film. The speculative reason for the stalling of shooting is that KriArj Entertainment has failed to make production payments. The film which was being directed by Shree Narayan Singh who was supposed to make his directorial debut with it has been forestalled even though the film is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
It was reported in the media that the hotel at which the crew of the film was staying in Uttarakhand has been locked down. The owner took the custody of all belongings and property of the shoot from the location. It was also reported that Shahid who had signed Batti Gul Meter Chalu after Padmaavat was looking forward to the film but now has decided to stay put till the matter with the producers get resolved.

The film’s next schedule was to start in April but that was also stalled and now Shraddha has taken off for Abu Dhabi shooting for the Prabhas starrer Saaho. Shahid has already moved on and signed Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s hindi remake of his Telugu superhit Arjun Reddy and is preparing for that as it goes on the floors in July. Reportedly, Shahid and Shraddha have not received their full payment for the film and neither has Yami Gautam who also stars alongside them. The problems do not seem to end for Prernaa Arora’s KriArj Entertainment as allegations of bounced cheques were also surfacing. The actors have moved on to other more lucrative projects but the film is now in limbo and there doesn’t seem to be any ray of hope.
