After the stupendous success of Shoojit Sircar’s courtroom drama Pink that made a lot of people sit up and take notice about stereotypes, norms and consent, Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan are teaming up once again for Sujoy Ghosh’s next film venture. The film is tentatively titled Badla and is produced by Sunir Kheterpal. Big B and the Naam Shabana actress will once again share screen space in the film.

As reported by a source close to the film the shoot will start in the second week of June. The source said, “It is a month-long schedule and they will be filming in London and Scotland. The film is a murder mystery which revolves around the duo and Taapsee’s love interest who is a businessman.” Interestingly, Taapsee will be seen in her next film opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Manmarziyaan. Abhishek, who plays a Sikh in the film made Big B well up with pride and nostalgia as his mother was Sikh and seeing his son in a turban was an emotional day for the veteran actor. Taapsee plays the quintessential Sikh girl in the film.
The film Badla will be the second outing of Amitabh with Sujoy as the latter had directed him in his 2009 fantasy-adventure film Aladin, which was the debut film of Jacqueline Fernandez and featured Riteish Deshmukh in the titular role. Sujoy also was the creative producer of Te3n which starred Vidya Balan, Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Currently, Big B is on a high with his film 102 Not Out raking in critical acclaim as well as the moolah at the box office. Even President Ram Nath Kovind had requested for a special screening of the film at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
