Ever since Shah Rukh Khan’s next film Salute post Zero has been announced, speculations are rife who will play the female lead opposite King Khan in the film. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s name and even Kangana Ranaut’s has been doing the rounds but if the grapevine is to be believed then neither of these actresses are in the running now. Kareena and SRK have done quite a few films together and their pair always spells success at the box office. On the other hand, Kangana and King Khan have never worked together but the fact that the former demands a meatier role in her films, this pairing might not come to fruition.

Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif are the other two names that are being thrown around but then both the actresses will be seen in Zero with SRK so they might not be signed on for Salute. Zero is currently been shot in America and the actors are busy wrapping up the film. Moreover, the filmmakers don’t want to introduce a new actress in the film as the role demands some years of experience and nuanced acting.

Therefore, because the role demands an experienced actress the two names that are at the top of the list are of Deepika Padukone’s and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s. Deepika started her career with SRK in Om Shanti Om and then went on to work in Chennai Express to Happy New Year. Aishwarya and SRK go a long way back right from their Josh days where they played brother and sister to Mohabbatein to Devdas. 

The makers of the film will finalize the leading heroine soon as the film is supposed to go on floors by the end of the year once SRK wraps up Zero. Watch this space for more updates on the film starring Shah Rukh Khan.
