Speaking about Karan's reaction, John Abraham said, "Karan is someone I love and respect both as an individual and as a filmmaker. He has been a constant source of encouragement to me. There are some films that are more than just a script, more than just a story...for me, Parmanu is that kind of a film. We went all out for it and hearing what Karan is saying reinstates our faith in our work and our vision for cinema."

Parmanu- The Story of Pokhran is an ode to the Indian army and scientists, who although ordinary people, accomplished truly extraordinary feats in the face of adversity. It salutes, celebrates and truly embraces the slogan- 'Jai Jawan Jai Vigyan'. While the premise of the film is based on true events, the characters are fictitious.
The film was in a lockdown after its initial co-producers JA Entertainment and KriArj Entertainment became at loggerheads. John had filed criminal cases against Prernaa Arora and her company KriArj Entertainment, for cheating, breach of trust, defamation and offenses committed under the Information Technology Act.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by JA Entertainment, Zee Studios and Kyta Productions, the film features John Abraham, Diana Penty, Boman Irani, Vikas Khanna and Yogendra Tikku. After many struggles and controversies, the film written by Saiwyn Quadras and Sanyukta Shaikh Chawla will finally be released on May 25, 2018.
