Actress Sanjana Sanghi who is all set to mark her Bollywood debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in the Hindi remake of Josh Boone’s 2014 Hollywood romantic drama, The Fault In Our Stars has added another feather in her cap. Sanjana has topped the University in her exams held last year. Sanjana who was a student of the esteemed Lady Shree Ram College For Women in Delhi topped the examinations held in April/May 2017, last year.

Sanjana was seen in bit roles in the Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri starrer Rockstar, Hindi Medium and Fukrey Returns has landed the plump project opposite Sushant and will be stepping into the role essayed by Hazel Grace Lancaster in the original English film which was adapted from the book of the same name by John Green. Sanjana was called by her alma mater for a prize for her academic achievement and she shared the letter received by her father on her behalf on her Instagram account.
She shared the image of the letter and wrote, “I woke up to my father’s text of a letter he received at home saying : “My daughter seems to have topped Delhi University!!!!” To be called back by my Alma Mater to receive this award was an indescribable feeling. And to not be able to be there to physically receive it was heart breaking. All my teachers and professors who changed my life, I’m forever indebted to you. Ready to dive into the #FaultInOurStars.”

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra had been scouting for months to cast a leading lady opposite Sushant in the Hindi remake of The Fault In Our Stars as he is also making his directorial debut with the film zeroed down on Sanjana when he remembered that he had casted her for Rockstar. He broke the news of her casting on Twitter and seems elated since he has found the perfect mix of beauty with brains and spunk in Sanjana. Now, with the news that she has topped the university, Mukesh’s belief in her abilities seems too true.
