Mama Neetu Kapoor is generally the one gushing openly over her darling son, but we suspect Rishi Kapoor is the real softie when it comes to his son and heir, Ranbir Kapoor. Recently, the senior Kapoor apparently watched the teaser and a few more scenes of Sanju, the Sanjay Dutt biopic in which Ranbir plays the ’80s Bollywood superstar. And papa was thoroughly shaken and stirred! Sources reveal he simply couldn’t believe the depth of his son’s performance. It left him emotional as his eyes welled with tears.
Hearing about Rishi’s moving reaction to his performance, it was then Ranbir’s turn to get emotional! He was extremely touched to learn of his father’s reaction to his film. This father-son duo prefers not to gush over each other in the media, but they clearly respect and yearn for each other’s feedback.

Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation for the part has created huge waves. B-town has been full of praises for the Kapoor lad. A visibly proud Rishi had also shared his reaction to his son’s performance in the Rajkumar Hirani-directed film. “I found it very good. He is looking the part. He has worked very hard for all those different parts. To make up his body, he took six weeks off and grew hair. He is an actor and he has passion as well. Thankfully, one thing that I have passed on to him is my passion for work and films,” said Rishi.
Referring to Ranbir's last outing Jagga Jassos, which had failed to garner much attention from the audiences, Rishi stated that an actor should not succumb to failures. “...Some films will work, some won't. No actor has 100 percent track record. But the passion should be continuous. The fire within you as an actor should always keep burning. That should be the mantra for any good actor,” he pointed out.
He also added that Ranbir is a risk taker and the fact that he does one film at a time makes things even tougher for him.
