With her comeback film Veere Di Wedding set to hit screens on June 1, the stunner returns to the screen after two years. From being selective about films to liking a script which will be announced shortly, it’s time to tune in as Kareena gets talking…
Being Selective
She states that the kind of movies she is choosing now are dramatically different from each other like Ki & Ka, Udta Punjab and Veere Di Wedding. It’s just the way she prefers to work. “I want to do one film at a time,” she says, adding that husband Saif and she are trying to maintain a work-life balance with Taimur. They want to take turns being home to take care of their son while the other is working.
Choosing Veere Di Wedding
Kareena points out that so far, she has either been seen with a superstar or in a big-ticket entertainer. Veere… however is quite different from what she has done so far. She points out that the script and the casting is fresh. The script and language is young and something that hasn’t been seen before, she adds. “Ever since I read the script, I wanted to be a part of it. I’m glad that Rhea (Kapoor, producer) decided to make this film,” she declares.
Women Talk
In Kareena’s opinion Veere… stands for a bro or a bestie’s wedding. She informs that everyone has their moment in the film, which is a story about four women in different stages of love and marriage — the first one is tying the knot, the second one is going through a divorce, the other is commitment phobic and the fourth one is married but is facing issues.
Dialogue Drama
She reveals that when she read the script, she didn’t think it would get the kind of reactions it has. In her opinion, this is the way normal people, including girls, talk. However, when she saw the trailer, she knew people would like it. “It’s got the flavour of what the youth want today,” she says.
Next Move
Ask about her next film and all she will say is, “I have liked a script. It will be announced soon.” And that, dear readers, is just the bestest thing we have heard all day!
