Harshvardhan Kapoor’s second film Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is all set to clash with elder sister Sonam Kapoor’s Veere Di Wedding on June 1, 2018. Previously the film was clashing with John Abraham’s Parmanu – The Story of Pokhran. This rescheduling of release dates perplexed many trade pundits but it also made sense in a way that the target audiences for both the films are different which would not have been the case if the original date was adhered to.
Veere Di Wedding is produced by Harshvardhan’s and Sonam’s sister Rhea Kapoor and stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shikha Talsania, Swara Bhasker and Sumeet Vyas besides Sonam. The clash has left dad Anil Kapoor anxious but the young actors are surprisingly confident about the move and their films doing good business at the box office. Sonam told a leading daily, “I think there is space for everyone. I'd rather have my brother’s film releasing on the same day than anyone else's."

On the other hand, Harshvardhan called the clash a reason to celebrate for the Kapoor clan. He said, “It’s a calculated and unemotional move. Let’s just say, Kapoors will take over that Friday. While our trailer released on May 2, we didn’t get the film’s music on time. Also, Vikram (Vikramaditya Motwane, the director) was still finishing the film. We didn’t expect Parmanu to release on May 25, because the makers were fighting a legal battle. With the IPL ending on May 27, June 1 looked like an ideal date. It’s a cleaner space for two films of distinct genres to release.”
Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is a vigilante film that has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom productions. It also has a special dance number by Sonam and Harshvardhan’s cousin Arjun Kapoor. After Sonam’s starry wedding to businessman Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018, the interest in the Kapoor family has increased manifold which we’re sure the family would love to cash in on by releasing their films on the same day.
