Director Rajkumar Hirani has revealed a new poster from his upcoming film Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor. This poster, unlike the previous ones, does not highlight one of the gruesome phases of Sanjay Dutt’s life. In fact, it is all hearts and smiles. Featuring Ranbir with Sonam Kapoor, this poster is the sweet memory of Sanjay and his first love – Tina Munim. It takes us back to the days of Rocky, where it all began.

The director calls this poster ‘A still from Sanju’s crazy romantic love life!’ Childhood buddies Sanjay and Tina started filming together for Suneel Dutt directorial Rocky in 1981. This film also marked Sanjay’s entry in the Bollywood show business, while Tina was already a few films old. It was on the sets of this film that their friendship blossomed into love and became stronger. Rocky’s instant success made Sanjay an overnight superstar and his charm had managed to win many hearts including that of a few noted industry personalities.

Alas, their beautiful relationship was short-lived. She soon left him because of his destructive drinking habits and soon was also rumoured to be in a relationship with another older superstar. Soon after Tina, Sanjay moved on with his life towards his next hit film and to his next love interest – Richa Sharma. The two tied the knot after a few years of courtship but their marriage couldn’t survive the test of time.

Sanju definitely tops the list of the most awaited films of this year. The film, as the makers say, is unapologetically real and does not cover up the authenticity of Sanjay’s life. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay, it also features Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala. It is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s VVC films and Fox Star Studios and is set to release on June 29, 2018.
