OMG Abhishek Kapoor hauls Sara Ali Khan to court for breach of contract?

Earlier today we let you know that Saif Ali Khan had accompanied his daughter Sara for a meeting with her Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor. It was apparently on request by the filmmaker that Saif had attended the meeting to help sort out the complicated issue of dates that had arisen when Sara’s dates were handed over to Simmba as her debut film Kedarnath was stuck in an impasse. With the issues surrounding the disaster film Kedarnath resolved, the project was back on track – only this time a hurdle came in the form of Sara’s dates which were no longer available to Abhishek.

While it appeared that all would be somehow smoothened with Saif also stepping in to help resolve the date problems, now a new and disturbing development has been revealed. Apparently, Abhishek Kapoor has now dragged his debutant heroine Sara Ali Khan to court for not allocating dates to Kedarnath, despite it being a crucial part of the contract that was signed in September.

Eager to complete the film and in no mood to relent, Abhishek now wants the court to resolve the matter. He is allegedly also demanding Rs.5 crore as compensation from Sara for breach of contract and damages caused.

This is indeed a most unfortunate turn of events for Sara and her family. The makers of Kedarnath have informed her that the shooting will resume from May till July 5. However, she has already allocated her dates in June to the Rohit Shetty-directorial Simmba, in which she is paired opposite Ranveer Singh. It is a harrowing situation for all concerned.

Sara’s estranged parents Amrita Singh and Saif will be under tremendous stress. They had been considerably worried when troubles hit her debut film Kedarnath, nearly derailing the project. They had heaved a huge sigh of relief when Karan Johar stepped in to sign on Sara for Dharma Productions’ Simmba, thereby assuring her a good release. However, the plans have ironically backfired as young Sara is torn between two films with inadequate dates, and a court case looming over her head.
