It is no secret that celebrated actor late Sunil Dutt shared an extremely close relationship with his son Sanjay Dutt. Essaying similar love and affection in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju starring Ranbir Kapoor will be Paresh Rawal. The filmmaker shared yet another poster today that shows a terrified Ranbir wrapped in his on-screen father Paresh’s arms. With this poster, Rajkumar wrote, “#Sanju is a father-son story. Meet the father today - Paresh Rawal. Had fun working with him.”

Ranbir as Sanjay in the poster is visibly terrified and finds his solace in his father’s arms. Paresh as his father also exhibits the love and fear that the Sanjay’s father must’ve felt for a long time. In spite of their world crashing down, it is the father who had been standing as a strong pillar of Sanjay’s life. Yesterday on May 25, 2018, Sanjay shared a picture of his father and him on his Instagram handle in memory of his father’s 13th death anniversary. He wrote, “Wish you could see me as a free man. Love you… Miss you.”

Sanjay was first imprisoned in the year 1993 after he was found to be connected to gangsters involved in the Mumbai blasts and for retaining one of the illegal weapons followed by five years of jail term. His imprisonment in the infamous Yerwada Jail continued for a period of twenty three years in bits and parts. He was finally announced as a free man in 2016. Sanjay’s family and friends clearly had his back through his thick and thin.
