Late veteran actress Geeta Kapoor who had worked in films like Paakeezah was cremated by her daughter, Aradhya Kapoor, last night without informing anyone who were taking care of her mother. The actress had passed away on May 26, 2018, in an old-age home. She kept waiting to see her son Raja, who had abandoned her at a hospital last year but her dying wish was not fulfilled as he never turned up. He had abandoned her last year at a hospital, post which a CBFC member Ashoke Pandit and producer Ramesh Taurani had come forward to help her and got her admitted to an old-age home after settling her medical bills.
Pandit, was shocked by the turn of events and the fact that the people who took care of Geeta in her final days were not informed by her daughter before the cremation. The mortal remains of the actress were kept at Vile Parle’s Cooper Hospital for her son Raja to turn in. However, after more than 30 hours of her death, her daughter Aradhya surfaced and cremated her quietly on Sunday night without informing Pandit or Taurani.

Pandit expressed his shock on not being informed about the cremation and told a media house, “"I called up the doctors to check on the matter and they informed me that the actress’ last rites have been done by daughter Aradhaya, last night. They didn’t want anybody to be present and son is still nowhere in the scene.” He also took to his Twitter account to rant about the appalling love and regards the actress was shown by her children. Apparently, the daughter claimed that she did not know about her mother’s plight even though it had gained media coverage at a national level. Geeta’s son Raja has still not come forward. Geeta had worked in cult films like Pakeezah and Razia Sultan.
