The news of Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia getting a divorce has taken Bollywood by storm. While there's all kind of buzz contemplating various reasons behind the divorce, a report in a leading daily claims things had ended way back for the couple.
The report mentions that Arjun had moved out from his and Mehr's residence six months back itself. "Arjun, 45, moved out of their sea-facing Bandra duplex, where they lived with their daughters, into a rented two-BHK owned by businessman-friend Kishor Bajaj. Meher and their two teenaged daughters continue to live in the duplex, and the arrangement is expected to continue till the divorce comes through next year," it states.
It quotes a source revealing that things between the two worsened to the extent that the neighbours threatened to lodge a police complaint. "They were fighting so loudly and throwing things at each other that the neighbours threatened to complain to the police as it wasn't the first fight of its kind. Mehr apologised profusely to them and immediately after that, Arjun movied into a five-star service apartment for a week," the report says.
As revealed by the publication, the divorce is a result of Arjun's alleged relationship with Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of actor Hrithik Roshan. The same report quotes a source saying, "Mehr, who routinely visits Mount Mary church in Bandra, had to be escorted home by a family after a breakdown in the church. "Mehr had learnt that Arjun and Sussanne were still meeting secretly and were close friends. She was traumatised as she had believed Arjun when he said he was a changed man and that everything would be fine."
It was on Monday, May 28, that Arjun and Mehr released a joint statement announcing an end to their 20-year marriage. The statement read:
"After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth.We have always been solid when it has come to us, we will continue to be solid for each other and our loved ones, as we embark upon a new journey. Both of us being extremely private people feel strange to be making this statement, but such are the circumstances of our lives. Where the truth can get distorted and lost.
We are a family, our love for each other is forever intact and we shall always be there for one another and most importantly, for our children Mahikaa and Myra. We would, therefore, appreciate our privacy through this time. Thank all for their support. Relationships can end, but love lives on. We won’t be commenting on this any further."
