We have seen Boney Kapoor and son Arjun bond even better in their time of crisis. Post Sridevi’s shocking death earlier this year, the Kapoors, including Arjun’s half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi, have grown even closer personally. Arjun has been a rock of strength for his father in the difficult times following Sri’s death. Now as life inches back to normal, the father-son duo are set to combine professionally as well.
It was three years ago that they first collaborated for the action-drama Tevar. Arjun had starred in the Boney Kapoor production Tevar directed by Amit Sharma and written by Gunasekhar. Co-starring Sonakshi Sinha with Manoj Bajpayee in a crucial role, the film was an official remake of Telugu film Okkadu. That was in 2015. Now the duo will be coming together again for their next project. The film is touted to be a masala entertainer and will roll next year.

Sources reveal that Boney and Arjun had been planning to work together for some time now. The delay was caused by the lack of a suitable script. Now that they have found the ideal script, Boney will partner with Zee Studios as producers. The hunt is now on for the right director and the leading lady. Incidentally, Zee Studios is also co-producing Arjun’s sister Janhvi’s debut film, Dhadak, along with Karan Johar.
Confirming the news Boney said, “Yes, Arjun and I are doing a film together which I will produce with Zee Studios. Once the other details are confirmed, I will make an official announcement.”
On the work front, it is a fruitful time for Arjun Kapoor. He is currently shooting with Parineeti Chopra for Vipul Shah’s Namaste England in London. The film is expected to release in October. Also on the anvil is Ashutosh Gowariker’s period film, Panipat with Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt. In addition, Arjun has Raj Kumar Gupta’s India’s Most Wanted, which he has described as, “A tribute to all the unsung heroes who dedicate their lives to protect ours.” His father’s full-on commercial production will be just what’s needed to balance the varied mix of films in his kitty.
