Varun Dhawan turns videographer, panning his phone camera on Karan Johar, announcing, “So Mr. Karan Johar today has gate-crashed a…” Karan wags his finger and interrupts to say, “I haven’t gate-crashed, I’ve become a professional wedding dancer. People are hiring me to dance at their weddings. But while I was doing that rehearsal I bumped into one of the most prolific dancers of the Indian film fraternity...”

Saying this, he walks up to a bemused looking Aditya Roy Kapoor, introducing him as “None other than the man with Aashiqui in his heart” adding, “His moves will make you groove!”
Karan moves on again, to declare, “And we have a surprise, the gorgeous barfi – not the one you eat but the one you can’t resist: the one and only Kriti Sanon. What she’s doing here, why she’s here with you and Adi, watch this space for more, while I go back to my (winks) grooves!”

Varun Dhawan tweeted that Karan had come to check on Aditya’s dance rehearsals and also revealed “a beautiful surprise”. That surprise comes in the form of Kriti Sanon who has joined team Kalank. She will shoot for a song with the two hunks over the next three days. A sprawling set has been built for the same in the city. Kriti’s look will be styled by Manish Malhotra and the song in question will be a key aspect of Kalank.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank brings Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur together for the first time. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.

Dharma Productions’ Kalank is an epic historical and emotional drama set in the 1940s. The film is special to Karan because his father Yash Johar was keen that this project should materialise. Karan wants to make sure it’s one of the biggest films he has ever produced.
