In a group interaction with the media, Taapsee revealed that while filming for the biopic, Diljit started calling her 'Gallan ki Rani' which roughly translates to the Queen of Talks. She talks a lot, and hence the Phillauri actor gave her the nickname. Cute isn't it? Talking more about her character, the leading lady revealed that since the film is based against a Punjabi background, it was a feeling of being on a home ground for her. However, the main challenge was playing hockey more than essaying the role she quipped.

Taapsee also spoke about hows she felt embarrassed for not knowing much about the sport, and more importantly was guilty of being clueless about a great personality like Sandeep.
However, she confesses she was taken aback (in a good way) when she first met the Hockey star. "Mujhe lagta tha Sandeep jiss par biopic bann rahi hai inki umar 40-50 saal hogi. Jab main mili toh maine Sandeep se kaha arey aap toh bahot young hai, toh ye bahot bada achievement itni kam umar mein, ki aapki biopic ban rahi hai."

(I used to think Sandeep, on whom the biopic is being made, would be of 40-50 years in age. But when I met Sandeep, I told him, arey you are quite young and that such a big achievement at a young age that a biopic is being made.)
Soorma also stars Angad Bedi. The movie will release on July 13, 2018.
