On February 25, 2018 fans of Indian cinema woke up to the disturbing piece of information that their beloved star Sridevi Kapoor was no more. The veteran actress, who was in Dubai to attend a family wedding, had breathed her last on the night of February 24 and died of 'accidental drowning.' Ever since her death, the family - husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor have stayed in a cocoon, possibly staying low and recuperating collectively from the unrecoverable loss.
Months after her mother's untimely demise, Janhvi opened up about life after the actor's death. From talking about being a baby who was fed and tucked in bed every night by her mom to wanting to make her parents as proud as she is of them - the 21-year-old poured her heart in an interview with her mentor and filmmaker Karan Johar for a leading magazine. In one of the questions, Janhvi touched upon the fact that she has barely watched any of her mummy's films.

This particular bit, like all other ones, is surprising for Sridevi started acting at the age of four. In a lifespan of 54 years, she spent 50 under the spotlight and starred in over 300 films. Janhvi, who made her debut as a cover girl of the same magazine for the June issue, was quizzed about seeing her mum's films. "I've seen five out of 200 films," replies Janhvi when Johar corrects her saying, "You mean 300."
"English Vinglish, Mom, Mr. India, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and Sadma. I didn't talk to her for two days after watching Sadma. She couldn't remember Kamal Haasan at the end of the film, and that disturbed me on a level I couldn't explain."
When asked about watching one of her dad's movies, she added, " I was literally obsessed with Roop Ki Rani..."
Following her mother's footsteps, Janhvi has a penchant for acting. The gorgeous girl was filming her debut film Dhadak when she lost her mother. However, she put up a brave front and returned on sets to wrap up the remaining schedule. Her launch vehicle, Dhadak, is the official Hindi remake of Marathi superhit Sairat. She is cast opposite Ishaan Khatter in the film which is slated to arrive in cinemas this July.
