Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to play the titular role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Hindi remake of his Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, but the leading lady of the film has still not been decided upon. The names of several actors have been doing the rounds as well as the name of Shalini Pandey the female lead from the original version. Young debutante Tara Sutaria’s name was also being considered and was said to have been signed on for the film but no official confirmations have come yet.

The young actress is making her debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2 with Tiger Shroff and newbie Ananya Panday. It was rumoured that she had been signed in for the Arjun Reddy remake but turns out her name was only considered for the role and no final decision has been taken yet. Going by the fact that the makers of the film took a long time in deciding the male lead for the film, they will not announce the female lead in any hurry. They would ensure that the actress fits the bill before they make an official announcement, and Tara might or might not make it to the final star cast.

Tara started her career as a video jockey in the Disney Channel India’s Big Bada Boom and later received recognition for her role in the sitcoms The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and Oye Jassie. Tara is currently shooting for Karan’s Student of the Year 2. The film is being directed by Punit Malhotra and is produced by Fox Star Studios and Dharma Productions. Karan released the motion posters of the three main leads some time back and Tara looked fashionably chic in it. The film is the sequel to Student of the Year which introduced Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan in 2012. The film is slated to release on November 23, 2018.
