Alia Bhatt challenges Varun, Arjun to take up #BeatPlasticPollution, Kangana shows ill effects of plastic

After taking part in the #FitnessChallenge initiated by Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore, Bollywood celebrities have now joined another great cause - #BeatPlasticPollution. On the occasion of World Environment Day 2018 today, Bollywood celebrities have shared the eco-friendly steps that they have taken up for a sustainable life, following the theme of Beat Plastic Pollution.

Actress Dia Mirza and UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador had shared a picture of plastic dump on social media recently, which raised grave concerns on the effect plastic has on our environment. Dia challenged all those people who are opposing Maharastra government’s ban on single use of plastics, and asked them how they can not see the bad effect it is having on environment. The challenge started by Dia Mirza is helping celebrities inspire the nation to use alternative methods.

Kangana Ranaut also shot for a video in which she wore a plastic bag on her face to reiterate the point that the amount of plastic in rivers and seas are increasing day-by-day. She said in the video that within 30 years there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. Kangana challenged people to put on the ‘Suffocation mask’ for merely 10 seconds to find out the effect of plastics on marine life.

Alia Bhatt also came forward to show her concern over the pressing issue and challenged her Bollywood co-stars for the new social media challenge to say no to plastic. Alia took to Twitter to share a photograph of herself where she is showing that she switched from a plastic bottle to a metal one and challenged Varun Dhawan, Sonam Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor for the challenge.

Ki and Ka actor Arjun Kapoor was quick to take up the challenge and he responded with, ““It takes one small step to #BeatPlasticPollution! I’ve replaced using plastic bottles with a metal one.
