Paresh Rawal believes Ranbir Kapoor is unlike other star kids, here's why

Speak of the most anticipated films of the year and Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju easily tops the list. The movie is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt, and is slated to release on June 29, 2018. Following the ginormous success of the teaser, trailer and a series of posters, Ranbir Kapoor has been topping the trends chart for his portrayal of Dutt in the upcoming film.

While one may arguably call him the product of nepotism, we surely didn't mind this one as the Kapoor scion has proved his acting prowess over the years. And if his on screen father, Paresh Rawal is to be believed, Ranbir is not like other star kids. He does not limit himself. In a conversation with the media about Sanju and playing the late actor Sunil Dutt in the biopic, Rawal revealed about bonding with his reel son off-screen.

“Ranbir is not moody but keeps to himself, he is a casual guy. I am a big fan of his right from his Rocket Singh days, because unlike other star kids he does character roles and does not limit himself to a handful of song and dance. In a film like Raajneeti where there were bigger actors cast with him, he still held his own and stood out.” Talking about the father-son relationship, Paresh said, “We needed to show the father-son relationship in the film. I cannot look like Sunil Dutt but I had to portray the emotions, the ‘jazba’ that he had for the country, for his family and for his son.”

Rawal also talked about the similarities between Nargis Dutt and Manisha Koirala who plays the yesteryear icon and his wife in the movie. “Manisha is so beautiful, so dignified and so fragile just like Nargis ji. Some people keep their dignity even when they are in lots of pain, Manisha is just like that, just like Nargis Dutt.”
