Did Salman just snub Rishi Kapoor after saying Ranbir shouldn’t have played Sanjay Dutt?

During a recent media interaction, a journo mentioned the names of three senior stars, who had started playing character roles while in their early fifties - Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Salman immediately asked, “Who, who, who?” When the names were repeated, he nodded at the mention of Bachchan’s name but retorted, “Who’s that?” when Rishi’s name was taken. And then he finished, “Anil Kapoor, I know.”

This is clearly a not-so-subtle dig at Rishi Kapoor, who is known to share a rough equation with. In fact, at the recent Sonam-Anand wedding, Rishi had even got into a spat with Salman’s sister-in-law, Seema Khan over Salman supposedly ignoring him and not greeting him properly at the reception. However, before Salman who was dancing onstage could hear of this, Rishi had already left the party.

In the course of the same interview, Salman also pointed out his dissatisfaction with Ranbir playing Sanjay Dutt in the Sanju biopic. Pointing out that no one could do justice to Sanju, Salman added that the Dutt should have played himself in the most recent 8 to 10 years of his life.

Quizzed about whether he had watched the Sanju trailer, he started off saying he hadn’t and then claimed that he had! He ended the topic saying, “Raju Hirani is a very sensible filmmaker and I am sure he has made a good film.”

Speaking about the current crop of heroes, Salman sounded unimpressed by their style of thinking. Declaring, “Tiger (Shroff) got it right this time (with Baaghi 2),” he added, “Varun has always been getting it right. He tried a one-off because it’s something he wanted to do but it did decent business as no one lost money. Apart from that, everyone is going slightly…”

He further mocked the metrosexual hero, commenting that this lot “think that India is from Cuffe Parade to Andheri. It’s not! So they think all our emotions are slightly clichéd and outdated.”

Wonder what Ranbir Kapoor thinks about that!
