Rohit Shetty’s and Karan Johar’s masala-entertainer and a first-time collaboration ‘Simmba’ has finally started rolling. Starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan, the filming begins today in Hyderabad. With Ranveer on the sets, two things can always be expected – fun and madness! Turns out, it has already begun. Rohit Shetty shared a picture of the Simmba gang marking the ‘beginning of Simmba journey’. This picture also reveals the first look of Ranveer and Sara.

Ranveer who was recently spotted flaunting his moustache was seen in a simple blue shirt and black trousers in this picture. But what has our attention is the sleek hairstyle. We’ve seen him bald and extremely hairy in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, so this look is a breath of fresh air and definitely not on any extreme scale. Ranveer’s character is ‘Sangram Bhalerao’ – a notorious but righteous police officer.

We’ve been waiting for Sara to make her debut for a very long time now. It finally feels like the day is not too far. While her Kedarnath is starting to see the light of the day, Simmba will mark her entry in Bollywood. And of course, what better than Rohit’s power-packed film and KJo’s mentorship. In the video, she is seen donning an Indo-Western outfit. We have seen Ranveer speak in the Marathi accent previously. But Sara was a surprise.

Simmba is said to be loosely based on Jr NTR’s Temper. Rohit Shetty had earlier revealed, “We have bought the rights of Temper but our film is not exactly a remake. We wanted to take four-five scenes from Temper but we thought it’s better to buy the rights. It’s what we did with Singham.” Well, whatever the business is, we have our expectations high from his film.
