The savvy, superlative Aamir Khan has found a worthy successor – Ranbir Kapoor, who else! Buzz goes that the senior actor is so impressed by Ranbir’s vision, he has actually volunteered to double up as his script doctor!

Aamir has always openly admired Ranbir’s acting chops but he is possibly, even more, approving of his taste in cinema. The Thugs of Hindostan star is amazed by Ranbir’s choice of films so far, be it Barfi!, Sanju, or even Bombay Velvet which had missed the mark at the box office.

In fact, he is taking his admiration a notch higher by volunteering to be Ranbir’s script advisor. He has apparently let the younger actor know that he would be happy to scrutinize and assess his scripts and offer suggestions. Of course, there is one big condition: that Ranbir takes his recommendations seriously and follows his guidance. After putting in all that effort, nothing less will do for Aamir Khan!

Fact is, both actors already share a close association. Along with wife Kiran Rao and director Ayan Mukerji, Aamir and Ranbir make up a close quartet and are known to spend time together personally and professionally.

Ranbir himself has made no secret of his admiration for Aamir. In the past, he has spoken glowingly of Aamir’s superior marketing techniques. In the course of an interview, he had shared, “He (Aamir) understands film marketing really well. I sit with him for all my films. I ask him, ‘Aamir sir, they’re asking me to go on this reality show, should I go?’ At times, he flatly says no. He knows how much a film needs to be promoted. Each movie comes with a different plan. I have not understood that yet; so, I’m still learning from him.”

It is clear that Ranbir already considers Aamir a huge inspiration. Question is, is he prepared to play obedient student??
