The trailer of Janvi Kapoor’s debut film Dhadak was launched today amidst all the glitz and glamour. The film also stars Ishaan Khatter in the lead role. Dhadak is an adaptation of Nagraj Manjule's hit Marathi film Sairat. Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Shashank Khaitan, the trailer was launched today in the presence of the entire Kapoor clan. The family was present to cheer Janhvi on her big debut but the absence of her mother, Sridevi was felt by everyone. However, the young debutante got teary-eyed at the media interaction when asked about her mother.
At the trailer launch, Janhvi could not suppress her tears when she was asked about her late mother Sridevi. The young girl fondly shared how during the shoot of the film her mother Sridevi was present and gave her invaluable tips about acting and makeup and how much is she missing her 'amma' at the trailer launch. Sensing Janhvi's near about breakdown, mentor Karan took her backstage so that she could calm down and make a reappearance. "I miss her today, " reverberated Janhvi's words in the auditorium.

Dhadak marks the foray of Boney Kapoor and Sridevi's eldest daughter Janhvi into the films. The young girl lost her mother Sridevi while filming in February 2018. Taking her mother's legacy forward, the young debutante impressed everyone with her film's trailer who were eager to see Sri's firstborn onscreen. And without a flicker of doubt, Janhvi passed the test with flying colours.
Dhadak, which stars Ishaan Khatter opposite Ms. Kapoor, is a love story woven in the backdrop of Rajasthan. The chemistry between the lead pair is palpable, the music is foot-tapping and Janhvi exhibits the similar passion and flair as her mother.
