The trailer of much-awaited film Dhadak starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter is finally out and it's all heart! At the trailer launch the cast and crew of the film kept their answers simple, honest and real. Amongst the many giggles, inside jokes and unknown facts that we learnt today, Janhvi's revelation got us emotional.
During the course of the launch, Janhvi was asked about her thoughts on the original film - Sairat and her debut film Dhadak, which is an adaptation of the former. Janhvi revealed that she first watched the Marathi superhit film Sairat with her mother, late screen legend Sridevi and expressed her desire of wanting a debut similar to the film!

The debutante confessed, "I saw Sairat for the first time with mom and I confessed to her that I wanted my debut with a film like this." And as fate would have it, soon Janhvi signed the dotted line for Dhadak that is exactly what she wanted. Sridevi, despite being a mother, was not lenient to her daughter and critiqued a small chunk of Dhadak's footage. Janhvi shared that her mother's only tip for her was to "work hard and keep working", and she held her profession of acting in the highest regard, advising her daughter to do the same.
An emotional Janhvi got misty-eyed when she was first asked about her mother being unable to witness her 'big moment'. Though, just like Sridevi, Janhvi too gathered courage and conducted herself with much grace at the event - because the show must go on.
The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan who has previously directed Humpty Sharma and Badrinath Ki Dulhania and is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. Dhadak will release on July 20, 2018.
