With marriage apparently beckoning, Deepika Padukone has become choosier than ever about her forthcoming projects. Top of the Bollywood heap with a string of commercially successful and critically acclaimed films to her credit, the stunner has upped the ante even higher.
The thumping victory of Padmaavat has been the icing on the cake of a most successful career and now the Numero Uno heroine will settle for nothing less than author-backed roles and a remuneration that is on par with that of Bollywood’s top leading men. This puts it in the range of at least thrice the amount an A-list heroine makes, but our hit-maker will settle for nothing less and why should she?!

Certain B-town insiders are apparently grumbling that she now also wants creative control over the script. They also point out that with her high asking rate, she could be making herself dangerously scarce in the business. However, we would like to think the very worthy Ms Padukone will get what she deserves, both script and salary-wise, and make it a winning proposition for her filmmakers as well.
On the personal front, she and Ranveer Singh continue to maintain the secrecy around their rumoured year-end wedding. This, despite a range of clues that suggest preparation for D-day is in right earnest. Earlier this month, Deepika along with her mom were spotted outside a jewellery store in the city, fuelling talk of wedding jewellery shopping.
There have also been reports that Ranveer Singh has purchased two floors in the building in which he resides with his family. Deepika is supposedly also supervising the construction work here herself. Buzz suggests a mid-November destination wedding in Switzerland attended by family only, followed by grand receptions in India.
Deepika could well be a tad too occupied with her impending nuptials to give too much attention to separating the wheat from the chaff, as far as her film offers go. With the message already gone out to interested filmmakers, it probably makes Deepika’s job a tad bit easier!
