Popular television actress Mouni Roy is making her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay in Gold. Gold is one of the several sports related films that Bollywood is churning out. However, it is not a biopic as compared to the others which are under development, although it is inspired by a true event.
In the teaser that was released some time back, Akshay was seen sporting a slight Bengali accent, who vows to bring a gold medal for sovereign India. India’s win at the 1948 Summer Olympics was its first Olympic gold medal as a free nation defeating Britain in the finals. Prior, to 1948, India had won three gold medals in hockey but this feat was registered under the name of British India. Gold is releasing on August 15, 2018.
