Sonam Kapoor has come a long way in her personal as well as professional life. From being not taken seriously as an actress to now holding her own in films with diverse roles, the glamorous actress made the whole country talk with her adorable wedding to businessman Anand Ahuja. Sonam is basking in the glory that is coming her way post her film Veere Di Wedding’s success. In a candid talk Sonam, spoke about her mother-in-law, turning director for best friend and fellow actress Swara Bhasker and directing a female-centric film.

Talking about her husband’s family Sonam said that they are Sindhis and a very private business family. She said that she is obsessed with her mother-in-law and gets on very well with her. Since they are not from a film background, Sonam did not speak much about them. However, she did say that it is fun being married and Anand and she have been together for so long that although she loves calling him her husband, she still thinks of him as her boyfriend.

Sonam had recently revealed that she would love to direct a film someday. Her best friend and co-actor Swara Bhasker also feels that Sonam would do justice to the role and can easily pull of a director’s responsibility. Talking about her wish Sonam said that she has a couple of stories written for Swara as they interact so much it is easy for her to visualize the actress in a lot of things. She also expressed her wish to work with Alia Bhatt but quipped that the Raazi actress has become too big a star to work with her. Sonam also expressed a desire to work with Varun Dhawan.

Talking about the stories that she has written or would like to develop Sonam said that she likes the perspective of a strong woman and the stories in her head are always about women. She said that women have more layers than men and some of the best writers in the world are women. She reiterated the fact that women have more layers as they are wives and mothers and their voice should be heard since they have much to say.
