The 19th edition of International Indian Film and Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards will return to Bangkok this year. But guess who’s performing at the event this time? Well, we are talking about none other than veteran actress Rekha. The epitome of grace and beauty will perform on stage after a hiatus of 20 years at the upcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards and we cannot be more enthralled.

The announcement was made by actor Varun Dhawan at the press conference of IIFA, held in Mumbai on Tuesday night. Calling Rekha’s performance as the ‘highlight’ of the ceremony, the Judwaa 2 actor said, "For me, it is going to be such a big highlight to see her (Rekha) perform live. I know a little bit of her act and to see that live is going to be a huge thing." When Rekha, who was also present, was asked which songs she would be performing on, she said, "I have a second name, mystery. If I tell you now, then what's the point?"

Interestingly, Varun also has a 10 minute-long performance this year, which will include tracks like ‘Jee Karda…’ and his popular songs from ABCD 2. Meanwhile, apart from Rekha's special act, IIFA will witness performances by several Bollywood stars including Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon and Iulia Vantur. Actors Vaani Kapoor and Nushrat Bharucha will also perform at the event.

The main ceremony will be hosted by Karan Johar and Riteish Deshmukh while 'IIFA Rocks' will be hosted by Kartik Aaryan and Ayushmann Khurrana.

The gala will be held June 22-24 at the Siam Niramit Theatre, which is adorned by Thailand’s heritage, art and culture and hosts the country’s most-popular theatre production.
