Actor Ranbir Kapoor has kick-started the promotions of Sanju, his next, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film has generated a lot of excitement among audience and Ranbir says he's happy because that was the first test they have passed. In a group interview in Mumbai, the actor said that he, along with the makers of Sanju, were really apprehensive about the viewers' response to Sanju's trailer and a thumbs up to it meant a lot of encouragement to them.
Apart from many things about Sanju, his life and Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir also talked about Brahmastra, a Dharma Productions film that he is working on with Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan.
Ranbir seems very excited and passionate about working on a film which is first of its kind in Bollywood. The actor, in the interview, revealed that it took director Ayan Mukherjee five years, post Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, to write Brahmastra.
Earlier, talking about the film, Alia has mentioned that Brahmastra is like Bollywood's Avengers. When Ranbir was asked to comment on the same, he laughed and said, "It's a very big comparison. It's a very new film for our cinema. It's not a superhero but a supernatural film. It's a modern day fairy-tale. What would happen if some amazing historic thing happens in today's world -- that's what it talks about. Many characters have super powers in it".
The actor also stressed on how Brahmastra is nothing like Baahubali and the comparison with the Prabhas film are not justified. He revealed that the story of Brahmastra is set in today's Mumbai. He said, "No (it's not like Baahubali). It's today's film. It is set-up in contemporary Bombay".
